Kyrie’s Rants & InSaNiTiEs

I’ve been so busy growing the baby that I haven’t felt the need to update my blog lately. But it seemed like a good idea this morning so here we go.
The Lost Boys are doing wonderfully they are very excited about having a little sister and hover so much that I have to admit it makes me a little crazy. Seems like every time I turn around I have to be careful not to trip over one of them.  They are good boys though, they have managed to stay out of too much trouble these last few months.  This Wednesday is Kayden’s guitar show, he’s been doing really well with it.  In fact he was so good that when he started the after school guitar club his teacher bumped him into the advanced class, which he is pretty proud of. He’s been very excited about the Christmas show and keeps asking if Bella is going to wait to come until afterward. Which of course I hope she does as I know how much it means to him for his family to go to the show.  Who knows maybe 45 min of sitting on uncomfortable chairs will kick-start some labor. lol

They are both doing well in school, and Alex has been selected to apply to an advanced school next year if he makes it through the application process. Craig and I  are going to go learn more about it in January.  We haven’t told Alex about it yet because we want to make sure it’s something that is doable before we bring it up to him. We’re not sure if it’s a school that will cost money to send him to, we are hoping that if it is the price is not so outrageous that we can’t send him.  He really needs to go to a school that will challenge him and this one has an emphasis on Math, Science, and Engineering which are right up Alex’s alley. His grades this year have been really good he had all B’s his last report card so hopefully he will keep that up and be able to get in.  Of course with Alex going into middle school next year, I know can you believe it middle school already, that will be a big change for Kayden who will have to get used to not having his older brother around at school anymore.

Bella is doing well, she is head down just like she should be and baking just fine. My midwife says she probably won’t come early, which is fine she can bake as long as she needs, but I am to the point that I wouldn’t mind if she came early.

Mom and Dad will be down around the 19th or so to hang out and wait for the baby as well as be here for Christmas.  They are putting Grand into a nursing home before they come down as he has gotten to the point that he cannot be left alone and of course the rest of his good for nothing 7 boys (I’m not counting Eric or my dad) won’t lower themselves to help their father.  Even the Son that lives in his house and eats all his food, and no I am not talking about my dad.

Mom says that Grand has really taken a turn for the worse in the last few months and that its impossible for him to do most anything for himself now.  I find this topic really upsetting because while Grand’s boys are all making excuses about how they can’t help out even to watch him for a day, so my parents can spend some time together, they are all behaving like greedy bastards with their hands out demanding various items from Grand’s estate.  Which because his house has been reversed mortgaged and he will be going into a home with nothing to pay the bills with there is no estate.

It all goes to pay for his remaining days in the home, which it should, other than my father his children have sat by and watched eagerly as Grand has gone downhill waiting like evil nasty vultures.  One of the brothers even had enough nerve to tell Grand to his face that he should just kill himself and end it all. My mother is way to nice to these people, and I keep telling her that but she’d rather avoid a confrontation about such things.  Which I guess I understand on one level but it makes me so angry if I was there I’d tell them how useless they have been as children, let alone human beings. Thieves and drug addicts, who care about no one but themselves. Of course none of them read this so I can be as blunt as I like, which honestly I would be just a blunt if they were in front of me right now.

More than one of them has tried to use the excuse that it just hurts too much to see their Father like that…I call Bullshit! That is so pathetic I can’t even begin to describe it, you are just trying to avoid your responsibility to your father because it’s inconvenient for you to take part in his care and his life.   I hope you raise children that will happily sit back and leave you to die alone either in the street or a home just like you were willing to do to your father. And as for the other one that doesn’t have children that said that I think you should be aware that you will be dying alone with no one to care for you or lift a finger just as you’ve done for your father.

Okay obviously I needed to rant a little bit about that…now moving on to happier topics.

I’ve been knitting for Christmas this year, unfortunately there will be no pictures because I just don’t want to spoil any surprises.  Though I did make the cutest coat for Bella that I don’t think I published so I’ll give you all a peek of that. I have the coat being modeled by the doll my Gran gave me, so no that is not a live baby its okay that she looks a bit spooky to some.

I think it turned out very very cute and I can’t wait to take pictures of Bella in it.  Oh I can also show you all  Trina’s Birthday gift as her day has come and gone by a few months now. When she was very little around 2 or so she used to have this pink stuffed elephant that she adored.  She loved it so much that when someone stole it from daycare she was heartbroken. She has mentioned that elephant from time to time her entire life so I decided to make her another one. This one can’t replace that one of course but I had fun making it and knew she would love it.

So there are a few of the projects I have been working on over the last few months. Most of my stuff has been for Christmas. I still have a bit left to do for Craig’s present but I am waiting on the yarn to come as I underestimated my need in that area. It should be here any day now.

The lost boys went up to visit their grandparents for spring break and then, Craig’s parents came down to visit them after they returned. Some how those lucky lost boys got two weeks of spring break…I’m not sure how that happened. I finished half of the I do Shrug and have started on the second sleeve. It’s coming along very nicely.

I know it looks kind of bloby and such, but that’s because it’s lace and I haven’t blocked it yet.

I have also been working on my Sprite DarterSocks which I finished last night just as I got my Sprite Darter in Wow! I was sooo excited

I made them extra girlie this time because Craig was threatening to steal them…though he assures me that he is secure enough that he can still wear them…sigh.

The weather was beautiful when Mel and David were here, but now it’s turned gloomy and windy. It’s looking like spring break was only a tease. Mom tells me that it’s still snowing in Montana and Mel called this morning to tell Craig it had snowed 6in. and she was moving down to live with us until spring decided to really come this year.
The lost boys enjoyed their easter gifts a great deal, and Kayden managed to  break his yo-yo so while Craig was trying to fix it he decided to super glue both of his eyes. Luckily he caught it in time before they were glued shut and washed his eyes for about 10 minutes. Was any interesting few days around here.

For those of you just dying to know what a Sprite Darter looks like…here are two pictures of my character…

See even in game I hang out in the desert where it’s warm. 😉

And here I am dancing for the joy of a new Sprite Darter!

So things have been pretty busy over the last few weeks.  We went to Craig’s parents for Christmas and the kids had a ton of fun being spoiled by their family. They made quiet a haul. I made some homemade fudge that was amazing if I do say so myself.  I forgot to take any pictures though so I have none for the blog on Christmas. I managed to finish a cloche and a matching scarf before we left.

Alex jumped in and demanded to take picture with me and not being one to squelch his modeling career I let him model the hat for me as well and got some really cute pictures. Unfortunately Craig is unable to master focusing and some of the photos were fuzzyish, but hey that is not something we kick you out of the family for so I am posting them anyway.

We came back and spent New Year’s Eve at Erica’s party. Where we had a blast hanging out and enjoying friends. I finsihed my sweater which I had started at Christmas and was happy with how pretty it turned out. It has become my favorite sweater!

Oh yeah this was the scarf I finished…

Today I got my knitpicks magazine in the mail and after I finished thumbing through it I handed it off to Kayden to look at.  He had fun looking through it asking questions and then he got to the needles section and with that gleaming of fanastism in his eyes he turned to me and said…”I can order needles from this magazine?!” I said yes and Craig went to hide his credit cards.

So today was a great day I finished up some Christmas presents…some of which there will be a preview of here. This year I made the boys Murloc’s for Christmas. They are little frogmen for the game World of Warcraft.  I think they turned out really really cute.

I can’t wait for the boys to open them on Christmas, very exciting!

Then I finished some other projects that won’t be putting up here.  I had to go out and get a few supplies and on the way home Craig and I happened to see a antique armoire sitting on the side of the road. Craig drove right past it…but I saw…. A Yarn Armoire!!!! *insert glowing light and angelic singing here*

I have a thing for antique furniture even though I don’t technically own any.  After a discussion, I decided that I would let my Best Friend have back her great great great great grandmothers steamer trunk…even though I had kept it safe for the last ten years. Personally I think after 2 years that is technically abandonment and it qualifies it as mine.  I LOVE that trunk, it makes me happy every time I squeeze a bit more yarn into it. Though admittedly I have out grown the trunk and my stash is to big for it.

I decided that my friendship was more important then the trunk when she got that really sad sound in her voice and said I could keep it if I really felt that way. I do…but I understand why she loves it too so she can have it…plus I made her come and get it so I get to hang out with her!

Anyway I saw the Yarn Armoire and made Craig turn around so I could look at it more closely to see if maybe it should come home with us. When I looked more closely I saw….skeltelon keyholes!!!!!!That may fit my keys!!!!!

It has locking drawers! I have wanted one of these since I can remember. When my friend told me she would be coming in March to pick up her truck, I began dreaming of the perfect Yarn Armoire.

Anyway I tried my keys…and alas they did not fit. However this one is the closest…it just need to be the same shape but smaller.

So here is my pretty Yarn Armoire which needs a little bit of TLC…but I can’t wait to fix it up. Okay technically Craig is the one doing the wood work needed…but look I am taking pictures and very very excited and supportive that should count!

Look look it even has one of those shifty metal clothing hangers!

And a mirror that comes out from the top and does mirror things!

Plus it has a very heavy antique mirror for the open armoire part.

I am soo excited I told Craig if he fixed it up for me, I would consider it the perfect Christmas present ever!  How could it get any better, a pretty antique I have been dreaming of forever, a place to store my yarn and my baby making it all pretty for me!

So Halloween has come and gone and the kids had a great time. They went trick or treating and came back with a huge haul which they promptly took back to their mother’s with the warning that if it came back here I’d eat it all.  Which of course means she gets to deal with the hyped up kids and the ant infestation…I win!

They spent the morning carving pumpkins in the living room and then we baked the pumpkin seeds…about 2 minutes to long…as they were all burnt. *sigh* Oh well I probably didn’t need the pumpkin seeds anyway. Alex didn’t quiet understand the whole concept of carving a pumpkin so he drew impossible things on his pumpkin and then looked at it in confusion when he tried to carve it.

Alex dressed up as the Grim Reaper, he was really excited about the costume because it came with the spear. Which he spent most of the morning idly stabbing into the air as he fought scary monsters in the backyard. But hey isn’t that a great Kung Fu stance.

Kayden wanted to go as a Ninja for the 5th year in a row but Craig suggested that if he couldn’t pick something else he could go as Elmo. In which case Kayden decided on a Devil but when they got there, the store did not have a good selection of Devil costumes so he settled on Desparado. Mainly because it came with a gun that shoots bullets AND an eye patch how can you go wrong with that.

Alex decided that he was going to hold up Kayden for his candy…but as you can see Kayden doesn’t even look slightly imtimdated.

After they went out and held up the neighborhood for candy they came home and set up the garage to hand out candy as well.

This is what it looked like without the flash.

I got some great pictures of Kiyana and Trina from my mom. Of her baking some halloween cookies.

They all look so cute as the white tiget family.
